Daqian’s stone houses and lanes follow the slopes of the Taihang Mountains. Reaching it means travelling winding mountain roads into a very different landscape from Shanghai’s waterside villages.
Ourland’s approach is to retain the village’s character while bringing spaces back into use. Its story includes nature observation, working with materials and recording the lives and changes of the village.

Past and developing village activities include woodwork, courtyard care and documenting local stories. Any participation must fit the work underway and the confirmed programme.
